FAQ of our spam filtering software

1. Does your spam filtering software only work with Outlook Express?
2. I start this program first to retrieve messages and kill spam, then start email program to retrieve normal emails. Does that mean I retrieve normal messages twice. So is it true that using this program will slow down my speed of processing emails?

Does your spam filtering software only work with Outlook Express?

No. Our spam filtering software is NOT only for Outlook Express. It CAN work with non-Microsoft e-mail program.

You can set your email program manually. Procedure to follow:

1. Menu "Tools" -> Email Program Manager.
2. Click "Add" in "Email Program Manager" dialog box.
3. Click "Browse" to specify the executable file of the email program that you want to start in "Target" textbox.
   Startup Postition is the directory of the .exe file.
4. You can click "Test" to make sure that your email program starts up correctly. Or just click "OK" to finish the procedure.

After that, SpamGunner can work with your e-mail program.

The whole procedure is just as you add a shortcut on the desktop of Window. If you have several email programs, you can set one of them as your default email program in SpamGunner.

Through our tests and many of our users, using this program did not slow down the speed of processing email. On the contrary, it largely accelerated the speed of processing emails. Reasons are as follows:

• This program checks and processes emails on multiple accounts synchronously, just like checking a single account. We are sure it's one of the fastest one among same kind of products in the world.
• You can set it only retrieve several top lines of messages. In general, we can judge if one message is spam or not with only parts of the information. Thus for some spam with large attachments, there is no need to retrieve those attachments.
• After this software automatically kills most spam, you will not retrieve those messages in Outlook Express and you also save the time on checking spam by yourself.
• Have a try, you will experience how this program feels.

Are you sure that those messages killed by your software are really spam? If my normal emails were killed by mistake, what should I do?

SpamGunner can import your friends' addresses from another email program. Messages from your friends will not be killed. Spam patterns in the filter library are elaborately chosen by us reassure yourself. Even when a normal email is killed by mistake, the information of that message is still left in our software, you can recover it.

What are the differences between "Killed Mails" and "Deleted Mails"?

"Killed Mails" are the mails killed from the server. If a certain mail is killed in our software, then it disappears from the mail server. If you use email clients to receive mails then these killed mails will not be received again.

"Deleted Mails" are those marked as deleted. For example, if a normal mail is received by our software and it is also ensured as normal, then it will show in "Inbox" first and has a copy in the server as well. Then when you use email clients to receive mails next time it will still be received. If you mark it as deleted, then it will not show in "Inbox" but in "Deleted Mails", but corresponding mail will not be killed from the server.

when using SpamGunner for a long time and there are more and more mails in the mail box. It will influence the running speed of SpamGunner. At this time you can select some old mails and then click "Mark as Deleted". In this way these mails will move to "Deleted Mails" and then you can empty all mails in "Deleted Mails".
